Former Chelsea forward Loic Remy revealed he has no regrets about joining Chelsea over Arsenal.
Remy joined the Blues from Queens Park Rangers in 2014 after he put pen to paper on a deal worth £10.5million. The French striker went on to spend two seasons at Stamford Bridge where he won the Premier League and League Cup under Jose Mourinho.
After impressing in France with clubs such as Nice and Marseille, Remy made the move to the Premier League with QPR. And in catching the eye at Loftus Road, he earned a loan spell at Newcastle, before a host of England's biggest clubs turned their attention to the Frenchman.
Yet, despite interest from the Gunners, Remy revealed to Plejmo that he only had eyes for west London. “I could’ve pushed to join Arsenal over Chelsea but I have zero regrets," Remy said.
"It’s one of the best decisions I made in my career. It was a natural choice for me to step up after a very good season at Newcastle personally, Chelsea came in and only on the last day of the transfer window did my agent find out about the interest from Arsenal."
Remy played 47 times for Chelsea and scored 12 goals, yet despite winning the biggest prize of all, the 38-year-old does have one minor regret.
“I have no regrets after going to Chelsea and winning the Premier League, my only regret is that I didn’t play as much as I would have liked," he said. "Apart from that it was a time alongside fantastic players and I’ll remember it forever."
While Remy could've been lining up for Arsenal, there was talk that he was close to joining Liverpool before signing on the dotted line with Chelsea. However, after the Reds had activated a release clause with QPR, he reportedly failed his medical with the club and so the path was clear to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

"I didn't know what was wrong, but they said I just needed to wait for a couple of days," Remy said earlier this year about the failed move to Anfield. "At this moment, I was a Liverpool player as far as I was concerned, because I'd done the interviews, and I still have a picture of myself on my phone, holding their scarf.
"It was a very proud moment for me, but two days later I found out that there was a problem with my medical, and the deal was off."
However, Remy still keeps a close eye on the Blues and has insisted that Enzo Maresca's side will win the UEFA Conference League this season. Chelsea progressed into the competition's quarter-finals on Thursday evening as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored a second-half winner to beat FC Copenhagen 1-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

“They have strong players on the bench and a lot of quality when it comes to scoring goals," Remy said. "I think Chelsea will win the Conference League and get into the top four. They have a great chance of winning the trophy and I don’t see why they won’t.”
After leaving Chelsea Remy went to have spells with Crystal Palace, Las Palmas, Getafe, Lille and Turkish sides Çaykur Rizespor and Adana Demirspor. He called time on his career after a final season in his homeland with Brest in 2023.
