Arsenal vs Chelsea predictions

Arsenal sit second in the Premier League, 15 points behind leaders Liverpool. Any realistic chance of winning the title has long gone.

Liverpool are not in league action this weekend, but Arsenal are no longer looking up, more down.

The Gunners started the match week just four points ahead of third place Nottingham Forest and six points ahead of fourth place Chelsea.

Rather than needing the win to keep pace with Liverpool, the Gunners now need the three points to avoid the ignominy of finishing third or fourth in what was once once a two-horse race.

Champions League football should be assured for Arsenal next season. The top four looks safe if they can start to pick up results again.

And the Champions League is going fine for Arteta’s team in the current campaign.

A 2-2 draw with PSV at the Emirates on Wednesday confirmed Arsenal’s place in the quarter-final. The damage was done in Holland the previous week, with the Gunners winning 7-1 at the Philips Stadion.

The first leg win allowed Mikel Arteta to rotate his squad in the return fixture, meaning his team should be re-energised for Chelsea this Sunday, after their disappointing 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last week.

Two wins in their previous two outings has seen Chelsea reclaim a place in the top four of the Premier League.

The Blues recorded wins over relegation candidates Southampton and Leicester City to fire them back up the league after back-to-back defeats had seen Enzo Maresca’s team drop to seventh.

Despite the wins, there still seems to be something missing with the team at the moment.

The 4-0 win over Southampton was routine. The Saints have already given up the ghost and seem to have accepted they will be back in the Championship next season.

But the win over Leicester was far from convincing. Chelsea dominated the match with 20 shots at goal compared to Leicester’s three. But Maresca’s new team simply couldn’t put his former club away.

Chelsea do have an injury crisis, and that is certainly not helping.

But with only four league wins in nine matches since the turn of the year, the Blues aren’t looking anywhere near as convincing as they did in the first half of the season.

Arsenal vs Chelsea betting tips

After Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, Arsenal are three Premier League matches without a win. Chelsea haven’t won on the road since their 4-3 win over Spurs on Matchday 15. Something will have to give at the Emirates. Check out our match tips below:

Arsenal to win

As we’ve just alluded to, Chelsea are awful on the road. And in all honesty, even though the results have been okay at Stamford Bridge in 2025, some of the performances haven’t been the best.

There is little sign that is about to change anytime soon.

Cole Palmer, so often the driving force behind everything good Chelsea do, is seven Premier League matches without a goal involvement. And along with the injuries, Chelsea are simply getting by at the moment.

For all the criticisms aimed in Arsenal’s direction, the Gunners have only lost once at the Emirates in the Premier League this season. There is a shortage of goals, but we expect to see Mikel Arteta’s team find a way to get past Chelsea.

⚽ Back Arsenal to win at 4/5 with Sky Bet ⚽

Martin Odegaard to have 1+ shots on target

Martin Odegaard hasn’t scored or assisted in the Premier League since the 5-1 win over Manchester City on Matchday 24.

The Arsenal captain did score twice and provide one assist in the 7-1 win over PSV in Holland, but that match aside, it has been slim pickings for the Norwegian in recent weeks.

Arsenal’s poor run of form has coincided with Odegaard’s barren run. So if the Gunners are to beat Chelsea, don’t be surprised if Odegaard contributes to a goal.

He is 7/5 to score or assist, and that looks like a fair bet. But given his recent dry run, we are backing Odegaard to simply have one or more shots on target at the attractive odds of 4/6 with Paddy Power.

⚽ Back Martin Odegaard to have one or more shots on target at 4/6 with Paddy Power ⚽

Arsenal to score over 1.5 goals

Mikel Arteta’s team have been feast or famine in recent weeks.

They have scored just once in their last three Premier League matches and just three times in their most recent four.

In the match before that four-match run, the Gunners put five past Manchester City. And they also managed seven in one Champions League match during that sequence of fixtures.

Chelsea have conceded two or more goals in four of their previous five away matches in the Premier League. This includes five in their last two.

The Gunners would seem to be due a couple of goals or more, and this looks like the ideal match to get them.

⚽ Back Arsenal to score two or more at 5/6 with bet365 ⚽
