'Thank you': Jamie Reuben sends emotional message to Newcastle United fans as Carabao Cup final …

Jamie Reuben has spoken to Newcastle United fans ahead of the Carabao Cup final.

The day all Newcastle United fans have been waiting for is finally here, a trip to Wembley Stadium to play Liverpool for the Carabao Cup.

Newcastle fans took over London on Saturday night, there was a sea of black and white in Covent Garden as they all grouped on the eve of what could be one of the biggest days in the club’s history.

There have been several setbacks along the way, with Anthony Gordon suspended and Lewis Hall injured alongside fellow defender Sven Botman. Newcastle must find away to overcome the odds against a Liverpool side who at times have looked unstoppable this season.

The Magpies can take confidence in their 3-3 draw against Liverpool at St James’ Park last December, star striker Alexander Isak scored in that game, with fans hoping he can do the same again on the big stage.

The Swede didn’t play against Liverpool in their last meeting in late February, but Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk is expecting a tough battle against Isak.

With captain Bruno Guimaraes ready to lead the team out at Wembley on Sunday, Jamie Reuben has sent a message to Newcastle fans.

Jamie Reuben’s message to Newcastle United fans

Newcastle stakeholder Jamie Reuben has been pulling the strings behind the scenes on Tyneside alongside the PIF since the takeover in 2021. Fans will assume Reuben will be at Wembley on Sunday, hopefully alongside Yasir Al-Rumayyan.

Thanks to Reuben, former Toon director Amanda Staveley will attend the final. Last summer, her and husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi had a frosty end at Newcastle. Still, it was revealed that Reuben invited Staveley and Ghodoussi as Newcastle’s guests to the final in a sensational gesture of goodwill.

Staveley could meet up with Newcastle legend Alan Shearer at Wembley if their paths were to cross, with Shearer can’t wait to see Isak vs van Dijk and to soak up the atmosphere on the big stage.

Speaking on social media platform X, Reuben said: “Two years on and we are back, stronger and more determined than ever, thank you for your support tomorrow and every day @NUFC.”

Reuben could watch on as Newcastle look to add to the trophy cabinet that is desperate for fresh silverware. It’s been 56 years since they last won a trophy, the Fairs Cup in 1969 – fans want nothing more than to call themselves champions again.

Jamie Reuben kept his promise from 2023

Newcastle’s 2023 Carabao Cup final was devastating for the players, fans and of course the club staff. The build-up to the final was anything but positive, with the Magpies struggling to find the back of the net and the bombshell that was Nick Pope’s red card in the game before – Loris Karius gave a good account of himself but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Reuben was at the 2023 final and saw Newcastle lose 2-0 to Manchester United. After that game, he took to social media to make a promise to the fans.

“This is why we are the best club in the world – thank you. Don’t doubt we will be back – stronger and better.”

Head coach Eddie Howe promised success for Newcastle in the future, admitting how much the loss to Man United had hurt him.

Howe himself will be making history with a win on Sunday. He’ll become the first manager to lift a major trophy for Newcastle since Joe Harvey in 1969.
