Everton supporters will be looking towards more optimistic times on Merseyside after plenty of change at Goodison Park this term.
The Friedkin Group’s completed takeover of the Toffees felt like it was a long time coming, and since their arrival, plus the appointment of David Moyes as manager, things have taken a major upturn.
With Angus Kinnear set to arrive at Everton from Leeds United ready for the move to Bramley-Moore Dock in the summer, the future looks to be well-planned and much more positive.

Angus Kinnear set to ruffle Moyes at Everton already
While Kevin Thelwell has done plenty of good work in difficult circumstances at Goodison Park over recent seasons, you can understand the decision behind making changes behind the scenes.
With Kinnear’s experience working with American owners too, supporters will no doubt have been feeling fairly pleased about his imminent arrival at the end of the current campaign.

However, according to Alan Nixon via his Patreon account [16 March], there could already be a fallout on the cards between Kinnear and Moyes.
Nixon details that although the manager was keen to bring in his former colleagues like Rob Newman and Mick Doherty to assist him in his role, Kinnear has other ideas and has lined up Nicky Hammond and Gary Penrice to join him on Merseyside instead.
It is Kinnear who has the final say, meaning the manager will have to accept his top picks for the job will not be arriving.

Everton can’t afford to overlook Moyes
It’s understandable why the new owners were keen on making plenty of changes as they try to mark a new era on Merseyside ahead of the new season.
However, there is a fine line to be tread and Moyes certainly won’t want to feel he has a lack of control over what is happening at Everton.
Since his arrival at Goodison, the Toffees have lost just one of 10 Premier League under his management, which speaks volumes about the work being done by the Scotsman.

There is no doubt going to be a period of growth on Merseyside now, but if they can tie down Moyes, there will surely be regular progress being made if his tenure so far is anything to go by.
With that in mind, TFG have to ensure they are not making Moyes feel like he has no control and rather, that he is just a cog in the project being overseen by Kinnear.
If the pair find themselves disagreeing over too much at an early stage, the optimism could fade from Everton ahead of next season.
