Chelsea star Moises Caicedo admits he's not about to tread carefully despite walking a disciplinary tightrope.
The all-action midfielder has been a shining light for Chelsea this season. He will, once again, hold down the fort in their engine room against London rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon (1.30pm).
Caicedo, 23, has picked up nine yellow cards already this season and one more caution before the 32-game cut-off would see him suspended for two matches. That means he will have to get through Arsenal and three more games before his head coach, Enzo Maresca, can breathe a sigh of relief on his un-droppable.
However, the £115million ex-Brighton midfielder is not the least bit concerned and, speaking ahead of the Arsenal match, explained that sitting so close to a suspension will not impact the way he plays - as he promises to go full-throttle against the Gunners.
"I'm going to fight for my team and for the badge," said Caicedo." It doesn't matter about the cards.
"I'm just focused on playing football and helping my team. I want to make tackles and I'm still going to do it."
On the prospect of catching up Arsenal and finishing ahead of them in the Premier League this season, he added: "Yes, it's possible for sure - and that's what we want. We are working hard for that, that's it. We know it's going to be a tough game but we want to play well and we're going to go for it because we want to play in the Champions League."
With 10 games left to play this season, Chelsea are six points behind Arsenal. The Gunners are sitting in second as their Premier League title chances hang by a thread - but both London sides are still well-placed to qualify for the Champions League for next season.
