The percentage chance of Wolves slipping back into the relegation zone has now been shared, after the club’s huge win over Southampton.
Wanderers ran out 2-1 winners over the Saints at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday and there is now real daylight down at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The win has taken Wolves up to 26 points, putting the club nine clear of the drop zone.
That gap could get cut back down to six today if Leicester City spring a surprise against Manchester United.
But things are looking good now for Wolves, and the celebrations yesterday were telling.
The travelling Wolves fans chanted ‘We are staying up’ after the win, and it’s now difficult to look past that happening.
And new data also strongly suggests Wolves will now be preserving their Premier League status.

Everything now points to Wanderers staying up.
A nine-point gap at this stage is very healthy, and hopefully Manchester United can do Wolves a favour this evening.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Wolves also still have to play Leicester and Ipswich and avoiding defeat to both will as good as confirm the club’s survival.
Following yesterday’s win over Southampton, BBC Sport reported new data from Opta regarding the likelihood of Wolves now slipping back into the relegation zone, in terms of a percentage chance.
Pretty much, it is almost certain that this will not happen.
Opta data suggests that, after the win over Southampton, there is currently just a 1.8% chance that Wolves will slip back into the relegation zone before the end of the season.
This will likely rise a little bit though if Leicester happen to beat United later.
What Vitor Pereira said about Wolves’ nine-point gap
As expected, Vitor Pereira was very professional when talking about the nine-point gap Wolves have now opened up.
He’ll likely be feeling very positive internally, but he ensured to choose his words carefully after yesterday’s game.
He said: “In this league, we cannot feel safe. The first mistake is to lose points.
“We must control our games because we cannot control our opponents’ games. The next match is very important for us.
“We need to do our work for our supporters, who were fantastic again [at St Mary’s].”
Wolves next face West Ham United after the international break, and three more points would surely all but confirm the club’s Premier League safety.
