One Chelsea star is finding his future uncertain at the West London club. But, one top journalist has explained the current situation which can help in understanding about the player’s future.
The star in question here is Jadon Sancho who joined Chelsea on loan in summer 2024. He parted ways with Man United due to various reasons. Earlier, they sent him on loan at Borussia Dortmund for the second half of 2023/24 season.
The Blues also have an option to buy Sancho at the end of the season. It can be triggered by paying the Red Devils between £22 million to £25 million if they manage to finish above 14th position in Premier League. Chelsea are certain to finish above that and are even favourites to finish in top four.
However, there are reports that Chelsea may let Sancho move away in summer. The Blues are not fully impressed with the performances of 24 year old. This will require them to pay some amount as penalty fee to Man United.
Chelsea to send Sancho back to Man United?
Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Blues do have a clause of paying some amount to United in order to cancel the Sancho deal. But, he added that Chelsea are willing to sign Sancho and keep him beyond this season.
🚨 Chelsea may pay Manchester United compensation to avoid fulfilling their obligation to buy Jadon Sancho, but that is not the intention at this time.

Romano also reported that Man United don’t want Sancho back. Even if the Blues send him back, the Red Devils will work hard to sell him to another club. Hence, Sancho wearing Man United jersey once again is very unlikely at this stage.
Sancho had a good start to his Chelsea career. He performed really well and impressed everyone. But, his performances are dipped and he is yet to register a goal or an assist in his last 12 games for the club.
