Manchester United are working hard to identify transfer targets for the summer, with Chelsea making life harder after agreeing a deal to sign Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP in 2026.
There have been a series of changes at Manchester United since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became co-owner. Erik ten Hag was sacked earlier this season for poor results and Ruben Amorim has been unable to improve matters on the pitch with the click of his finger.
Rebuilding the squad is going to take time, but United’s head coach must identify players who can perform in his system, like he did in January by signing Denmark wing-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
United desperately need a wing-back option on the opposite flank to bring balance to the team, which is why the Ineos recruitment team are preparing to sign a right-sided winger at the end of the season.

Manchester United fans were hit with the news on Friday that Geovany Quenda, who Amorim gave his professional debut to at Sporting, was no longer an option.
Some reports had suggested that Quenda had agreed personal terms with United, but it turns out the 17-year-old will now join Chelsea in a £63m deal.
United now must search for alternatives in the market, with several options out there, and some potentially even better than Quenda.
One player attracting attention for his impressive displays this season is 19-year-old Southampton breakout Tyler Dibling.

Dibling is admired by United’s technical director Jason Wilcox, but reports suggest Liverpool will be in the running for his signature this summer.
Transfer expect Fabrizio Romano claims United and Liverpool have both been keeping a close eye on Dibling, with the youngster proving to be a standout performer in a team sat rock bottom in the Premier League with just nine points from 29 matches.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano provided an update on Dibling’s future and suggested that the young winger is considered to be “one of the best talents around.”
“It’s a complicated season for Southampton, but he’s still considered one of the best talents around,” Romano said.
“And so, for example, I heard several times about Man United, and also Liverpool sending their scouts to follow the player.”

With Southampton set to suffer relegation to the Championship, Ivan Juric will find it difficult to keep hold of his best players like Dibling.
The Saint will demand top dollar for their star man knowing that interest from top clubs will likely persuade the winger’s head to turn.
Dibling has spent most of the season playing as a winger, but United will be tracking him closely to check if his ability and work-rate means he can be trusted as a wing-back.
