The San Francisco 49ers pulled off a trade on Saturday evening with the Minnesota Vikings. Jordan Mason, the talented running back who played very well in relief of Christian McCaffery, was dealt to the Vikings.
As for the full trade, Mason went to Minnesota long with the No. 187 overall pick in the 2025 draft in exchange for the No. 160 overall pick in this year's draft and a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Due to McCaffery only being able to play in four games during the 2024 season, Mason was given a chance to play a key part in the offense. He thrived in that role.
With the success that Mason saw in an expanded role, one 49ers insider does not seem happy with the trade.
Tim Kawakami of The San Francisco Standard posted his thoughts about the trade on X. He clearly was not a fan of it.
"No, I can't explain the logic, but I stopped being able to do that about four moves ago," he wrote.

Mason played in 12 games during the 2024 season. He carried the football 153 times for 789 yards and three touchdowns. In addition, he also caught 11 passes for 91 yards.
At 25 years old, Mason still has youth on his side and more room to develop his game.
San Francisco is taking a bit of a risk with this move. McCaffery has had many injury problems throughout his career. In 2024 alone, he dealt with both Achilles and knee issues.
Isaac Guerendo will be the team's primary backup, but Mason offered even more insurance.
