Manchester United are weighing up whether to make a move for Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, according to reports.
The Frenchman is believed to have caught the attention of the Manchester club’s recruitment department, as they consider replacing current No.1 Andre Onana.
GiveMeSport claim that head coach Ruben Amorim and United officials have been “privately discussing” whether they need a new keeper.

Chevalier is said to be one of the top targets being looked at if the Red Devils do decide that a replacement for Onana is required.
United will have competition for the shot-stopper
Chelsea are known to be keen on Chevalier, but there are doubts over whether the Blues will pursue another goalkeeper this summer. They are said to be prioritising a striker, a left-winger and a central midfielder ahead of the next transfer window.
Newcastle are likely to pose more of a threat, with the Magpies reportedly in the market for a new first-choice between the posts, while both Manchester City and Barcelona were mentioned as potential suitors in January.
How much would Chevalier cost?
GiveMeSport say that Lille were holding out for a fee of around £34m when teams enquired about his availability in the last transfer window. That seems like a reasonable price for a talented keeper who is still only 23 years of age. Liverpool paid £30m for Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili who has a similar profile.
However, a lot will depend on Amorim’s priorities in the market. There will be limited resources so the Red Devils boss will have to pick and choose which positions he wants to strengthen. A new striker, another wingback, a no.10 and possibly another centre-half may be deemed more important than replacing Onana.
