Mehrdad Ghodoussi sends brilliant five-word question to Newcastle United chief before Carabao…

Former Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghoudoussi will be cheering on Eddie Howe’s side in the Carabao Cup final.

Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Amanda Staveley were heavily involved in the PIF takeover of Newcastle United in 2021, taking a 10% stake in the club.

Ghoudoussi and Staveley sold their shares last year, with PIF and co-owner Jamie Reuben increasing their stake as a result.

But they continue to admire the club from a distance. Staveley has spoken to Howe before Sunday’s cup final, and both her and Ghodoussi are expected to attend Wembley to support Newcastle.

They were both part of the ownership when Newcastle lost the 2023 Carabao Cup final to Manchester United.

This year they will be attending as fans and they will hope to see their former side go one step further and lift a trophy.
