The Commanders’ roster is beginning to take shape after almost a week of free agency. Adams Peters pulled off some big trades that helped the offense greatly. There are still some names to monitor, but the way things appear at the moment, Washington will likely head into the draft to round out this roster.
Below is a look at what Washington has done to help improve the roster and where they still need some help.

Where are the remaining holes?
EDGE: Washington needs to get younger and more explosive on the outside. Dorance Armstrong is a good player, but he’s better as a rotational piece. The draft has some nice options inside the top 65.
-Mike Green (RD1-2)
-Landon Jackson (RD2)
-J.T. Tuimoloau (RD2)
-Bradyn Swinson (RD2)
-Jack Sawyer (RD2-3)
Corner Back: The Commanders added some nice depth pieces, but an infusion of youth is needed as Mike Sainristil is the only current projected starter under the age of 28. This is not a great draft crop, but there are some intriguing prospects that could be there in round one or two.
-Maxwell Harrison (RD1)
-Benjamin Morrison (RD1-2)
-Trey Amos (RD2)
-Azareye’h Thomas (RD2)
-Darien Porter (RD2)
Running Back: Brian Robinson is about as pedestrian as they come. He lacks great vision, is not a break-away threat and is just an average receiver out of the backfield. This would be a great draft to upgrade the position with one of our first two draft picks. If we were able to trade back out of round one and pick up a third, there are some nice options to consider.
-Omarion Hampton (RD1)
-TreVeyon Henderson (RD2)
-Kaleb Johnson (RD2)
-Quinshon Judkins (RD2)
-Dylan Sampson (RD3)
-Trevor Etienne (RD3-4)
-Bhayshul Tuten (RD3-4)
-Jaydon Blue (RD3-4)
Wide Receiver: The room improved from last year, but it is old. An infusion of youth and size would great help. If the Commanders chose to use a top pick on a young receiver to grow alongside Daniels, there are some very solid options in this draft.
-Luther Burden (RD1)
-Emeka Egbuka (RD1)
-Tre Harris (RD1-2)
-Jayden Higgins (RD2)
-Savion Williams (RD2-3)
-Elic Ayomanor (Rd2-3)
Offense Tackle: Washington traded for Laremy Tunsil, locking down the most important spot on the line for the foreseeable future. The question becomes, where does Brandon Coleman fit in? If the staff likes Coleman at right tackle, I don’t see a high draft pick used on the offensive line, however if Coleman moves inside to left guard, Adam Peters could take a right tackle with a top draft pick.
-Josh Connerly (RD1-2)
-Grey Zable (RD2) *can play all five offensive line positions
-Cameron Williams (RD2)
-Aireontae Ersery (RD2)
-Charles Grant (RD2)
