AC Milan have chosen not to pursue a permanent deal for Joao Felix after his loan from Chelsea, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Felix joined Milan on loan in the winter transfer window. His form has dipped after a promising start, leaving the club unconvinced about keeping him.
He made an impressive debut with a well-taken goal in a Coppa Italia match against Roma. However, he has failed to build on that moment.

There’s no buy option clause in the deal, but in any case Milan are not advancing at this stage.

Felix has made six starts and two substitute appearances since joining Milan. He has not contributed a single goal or assist during that time.
Milan’s Struggles Affect Felix’s Future
Milan are ninth in Serie A and struggling to qualify for Europe. They have also been knocked out of the Champions League.
Even if Milan wanted to sign Felix permanently, finances could be a problem without Champions League football.
Felix’s future at Chelsea is now uncertain, as he does not seem to fit into Enzo Maresca’s plans.
The Blues initially signed him on loan from Atletico Madrid in 2023. Since then, he has been unable to secure a long-term place at any club.

With Milan dropping out of the race, Chelsea must now look for a new suitor or consider bringing Felix back into the squad. However, reintegrating him seems unlikely under the current management.
Felix is at a career crossroads with no clear path forward. The next few months will be crucial in deciding his future.
