Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of Andre Onana for tonight's impending Premier League clash with Leicester City (7pm).
The Foxes will host Ruben Amorim's team at the King Power Stadium on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend. Marc Cucurella's strike on the hour-mark proved to be the difference between the sides.
United, who will also go in search of a much-needed win, might have to do so without their No.1. As reported by The Manchester Evening News, Onana faces a late fitness test after feeling unwell this morning.
The club have made plans for academy goalkeepers - Dermot Mee or Elyh Harrison - to start if Onana is deemed unfit. United's second and third choice goalkeepers, Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton, remain side-lined with injury problems they picked up in February.
Mee, 22, played four games for National League side Altrincham two seasons ago and he's yet to make a senior appearance for United since September 2022. He has played in seven games for the U21s squad this campaign alongside Harrison, who returned to the club following a short loan spell with National League North side Chester.
The academy ace Mee signed a new deal at United last August, and was part of the young side that travelled to San Diego for a training camp and pre-season friendly against Wrexham, but didn't feature. Harrison on the other hand, is yet to make his senior debut for the club.
During his six months with Chester, he played 18 times, conceded 16 goals and kept seven clean sheets.
Onana, meanwhile, has not missed a Premier League match for United through injury - playing in all 66 top-flight fixtures since he signed from Inter Milan in July 2023.
