Rams Lost $20 Million in 2024 Due to Unexpected Reason

Despite reaching the Divisional Round of the NFL postseason, the Los Angeles Rams had quite a tumultuous season marred with uncertainty. Perhaps, the worst problem they encountered which prevented them to win against the Philadelphia Eagles were injuries. Coach Sean McVay and the Les Snead-led front office struggled quite a lot - they even experienced quite a sunk cost too.

The Rams have apparently lost about $20 million due to the injuries they endured throughout the 2024 season. This is way above the league-average cost which is only valued at $16.9 million. When the numbers were crunched, Coach Sean McVay and Les Snead's squad was losing out on $1.08 million per game according to SportsCasting.

The Los Angeles-based squad ranks 10th among all NFL squads in terms of injury costs. Teams like the top-ranked Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($33.4 million) and Carolina Panthers ($25.9 million) did lose out on way more money due ton unfortunate incidents.

Five players come into mind which cost the Rams a lot due to their injuries. Cooper Kupp missed five games which led Coach McVay's team to lose about $787,473 in every fixture he missed. This brought his total injury cost hit to about $3.9 million.

Jonah Jackson, Joseph Noteboom, Rob Havenstein, and Matthew Stafford rounded out the list of players that cost the Rams a lot. Between these five players, the Rams had a total injury cost of $11.7 million.

Coach McVay and Snead may have to bolster the Rams' injury recovery team along with their conditioning unit to minimize all of these. Will 2025 see them have less sunk expenses?
