Ryan Stonehouse had a great start to his NFL career, earning him a Second Team All-Pro selection in 2022, and has averaged 50 yards per punt in each of his first three seasons. Stonehouse had a solid 2024 campaign but took a slight step back in production and struggled with touchbacks, punts inside the 20, and had a poor hang time. He had 73 punts for 3,691 yards, averaging 50.6 yards per punt, a 9.6% touchback percentage, 30.1% of punts inside the 20-yard line, and a 4.12 average hang time.

Stonehouse tied for 7th in punts, 4th in punt yardage, 3rd in yards per punt, 29th in touchback percentage, 34th in punts inside the 20-yard line, and 32nd in hang time. Since his hang time was very poor last season, he finished 34th in net yards per punt, which negatively affected their punt coverage. Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan expressed frustration with the punter’s poor hang time and how it affected their punt coverage.

“Right now it is hurting us,” Titans coach Brian Callahan said in October. “Some of the punts we’ve had, it gets down the field and it goes long down the field, but it doesn’t give us hang up in the air and give us enough time to get down there to cover. Puts us in a tough spot.”
