The Cleveland Browns have been rumored to be interested in a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in April's NFL Draft.
There have been a few outliers who think the team might pick a defensive player, but the majority of mock drafts speculation is that the Browns like at least two quarterbacks at No. 2 - depending on what Tennessee does at No. 1.
With the news that Deshaun Watson will be out for most - if not all - of 2025, a signal caller should be a priority for Cleveland in the draft.
While mock drafts are fun to discuss, they mean absolutely nothing. Especially when someone attempts to predict a trade in the draft, then even more so when it's near the top of the first round.
ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi revealed his latest mock draft, and in an attempt that can only be meant as an attention grab, he suggests the Browns will trade down from No. 2.
Even Grossi's co-host on the show called him a "madman."
"If they're good at this, they convince the Giants they're ready to take Shedeur Sanders," Grossi said. "Then the Giants call and say, 'We'll give you the No. 3 pick, this year's third-round pick and next year's third-round pick.'"
Grossi then has the Giants taking Shedeur Sanders at No. 2 after the trade, and the Browns selecting Jaxson Dart at No. 3.
"What's the reasoning there? Preferably you could take Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter, come back at No. 33 and there's Jaxson Dart sitting there," Grossi continued. "... I don't think that can happen. I think Dart has risen and if you don't take him at three, you're not going to see him again."
What?
Grossi clearly has Dart higher on his "board" than anyone else. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders will go high in the draft by default. Few draft experts think either one of them is a legitimate high draft pick, much less worth the No. 1 or No. 2 pick.
While Dart is probably the third-best quarterback in the draft, he's not a first-rounder by any stretch.
But, since we're talking mock drafts and trade speculations, it's an anything-goes scenario. Why not have some fun with it?
