The Detroit Lions have added a tight end.
Kenny Yeboah has signed with the Lions, the team announced Saturday. Yeboah, 26, was an undrafted free agent in 2021 out of Ole Miss. He’s spent the last four seasons with the New York Jets, catching nine of his 15 targets for 111 yards over 33 career appearances. Much of Yeboah’s offensive responsibilities have been as a blocker.
Yeboah, listed at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, has played 606 snaps on special teams since 2021. His grade on special teams from Pro Football Focus for every season were as follows: 2021 (86.7), 2022 (75.6), 2023 (76.8) and 2024 (49.4). He was credited with two tackles on special teams last season.
Other tight ends on Detroit’s 90-man roster include Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright. Shane Zylstra is an unrestricted free agent, and James Mitchell, who finished the season on the practice squad, signed a futures deal with the Carolina Panthers in January.
Yeboah, from Pennsylvania, began his collegiate career at Temple (2016-19). He transferred to Ole Miss and was the second-leading receiver under head coach Lane Kiffin in 2020, posting 524 yards on 27 catches.
