Ruud van Nistelrooy has named an unchanged line-up for Leicester City’s showdown with Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.
Staying true to his word, the Dutch manager has kept the same formation from the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, having been impressed by how his team performed after switching to a 5-2-1-2 shape.
And he sees no reason to change anybody in his 11. The only change to the squad is on the bench, where Kasey McAteer has come in for Ricardo Pereira, who misses out completely.
With no changes made, City’s defence will again see Wout Faes, Conor Coady and Luke Thomas for the heart of the back-line, with James Justin and Victor Kristiansen as wing-backs.
In midfield, it’s Wilfred Ndidi and Boubakary Soumare protecting the back five, with Bilal El Khannouss as the attacking midfield.
Up front, Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka play alongside one another. It’s their fourth time in a City starting line-up together.
With McAteer called up to replace Ricardo, it means there’s no place in the squad for Jannik Vestergaard, Oliver Skipp and Odsonne Edouard.
City (5-2-1-2): Hermansen; Justin, Faes, Coady, Thomas, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Soumare; El Khannouss; Daka, Vardy.
Subs: Stolarczyk, Coulibaly, Okoli, Winks, Buonanotte, McAteer, Mavididi, De Cordova-Reid, Ayew.
