Chelsea could be set for another busy summer with several potential departures after signing 11 last year.

Chelsea may have to see several summer departures this year to make sure they are able to bring more players in due to the amount that they have spent over the last couple of seasons.

They signed 11 players last summer, some of which haven’t worked out, and could be on their way out this year.

Enzo Maresca’s side are currently fourth in the Premier League table, and will be hoping to claim a Champions League spot for next season, if they do, then Maresca could want a few fresh names to come in for the campaign.

If that means Chelsea will have to offload a few players, then so be it, but who could leave Stamford Bridge in the summer?

Which players could Chelsea sell?

Chelsea already have one player officially departing as Jadon Sancho’s loan deal is due to expire. However, it is expected that the Blues will fulfil the obligation to buy, and sign the winger.

In terms of other players who could leave, Christopher Nkunku emerges as an immediate option, due to the vast amount of interest in him. He was heavily linked to Bayern Munich in January, and they could come in for him again.

Centre-back Benoit Badiashile has struggled to get regular minutes for the Blues this season due to the amount of competition for places at the centre-back position. Seeing as Chelsea recalled Trevoh Chalobah, he looks to be more a part of Maresca’s plans than Badiashile.

Another player struggling for minutes is former Leicester star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. He was linked with West Ham in the January transfer window and could decide to move on due to his lack of opportunity under Maresca this season.

This would come as more of a surprise, but Noni Madueke could be forced out as Chelsea have already signed Palmeiras winger Estevao for £29 million, he will join in the summer.

It could mean that Madueke loses his spot in the starting XI, and Chelsea could cash in on the England international, who is expected to be worth around £34 million. Finally, David Fofana, who has had a flurry of loan moves over the past few seasons, is showing that he is not able to get into the Chelsea team. This season he was at Goztepe in Turkey until January, and he is expected to be on his way out permanently in the summer.

Who is likely to stay at Chelsea?

Firstly, Enzo Fernandez was heavily linked with a move away in the January transfer window, after he failed to make much of an impact for the Blues in the first half of the season. However, he has come good as of late, and now remains a key part of Maresca’s squad both for now and for the future.

Defender Levi Colwill has faced criticism at times this season due to a string of inconsistent performances, however, he is a regular in Maresca’s starting XI, especially considering the injury to Wesley Fofana earlier this season. Colwill has made 26 Premier League appearances, and so is expected to stay, despite the fact that many believe Chelsea will aim sign a centre-back in the summer window.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has had a poor season, due to a plethora of mistakes, he lost his spot in the starting XI for a while in February. But, Sanchez is back in Maresca’s team, and backed by the club. The Blues have been linked to signing a goalkeeper however, for example Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton, but Sanchez is likely to stay in a backup role.

Finally, striker Nicolas Jackson came under a lot of pressure last season as he struggled with his scoring form. However, he’s seen a major improvement. His partnership with Cole Palmer has developed, and Jackson netted nine goals before getting injured this season.

He will likely be in competition with a striker that Chelsea sign, as they have been linked to several including Ipswich’s Liam Delap and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
