Head coach Ruben Amorim has said rotation is the reason behind his decision to recall Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United's starting XI for tonight's clash with Leicester City.
The United chief has made three changes for the Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium, one of which is enforced amid Patrick Dorgu's domestic ban. Tonight's game will mark the third and final domestic fixture he will miss.
Ugarte has replaced Casemiro in the centre of United's midfield, bringing the Brazilian's run of three successive starts to an end. He impressed against Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday night, but a fourth start in a little over a week risked being too much for the former Real Madrid man.
Asked what Ugarte's inclusion means for the team, Amorim told Sky Sports: "It's important, but it is more rotation because Casemiro has been doing an amazing job.
"But after three games in a row, he was so tired last Thursday, so we felt that we needed to rotate some players because we need to be fresh for this game."
Mason Mount has also been reinstated to the matchday squad, three months since suffering a leg injury in United's 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on December 15, and he starts on the bench.
Amorim is a big fan of the former Chelsea man and is delighted to have him back available.
"He is really talented and he gives us experience," Amorim added. "He is a young player but he has been playing in the Premier League and the Champions League for a while. It is good to have another player fit."
