When Aaron Rodgers chose to come to the New York Jets two years ago, he made several concessions and pay-cuts to help the organization bring in talent around him.
The selflessness may not have been rewarded with winning seasons in either of the two years that the four-time NFL MVP was in Florham Park, but it was clear that Rodgers did everything he could to turn around the Jets.
Now, with the Jets moving on from the future Hall-of-Famer, that same selflessness isn't something Rodgers is looking to repeat with a potential new team.
In a report made by The Athletic's Michael Silver, Dianna Russini, and Alec Lewis, Rodgers is looking for a new contract "in the same general range as new Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold."
Darnold signed a three-year deal worth over $100 million with Seattle this offseason. The former first-round pick of the Jets put up career-high numbers in completion percentage, yards, touchdowns, and wins as the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings last year.
Rodgers, meanwhile, struggled from an efficient standpoint with New York despite throwing for 28 touchdowns and 3,800 yards. His numbers and win total make his demands of a contract near Darnold's something of a surprise.

The Athletic did report that those demands are "not expected to be a major stumbling block" in negotiations, though.
The New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Minnesota Vikings are all teams reportedly interested in bringing the 41-year-old quarterback to their roster at this point in the offseason.
The longer the negotiations continue, though, the more obvious it seems that Rodgers is looking to stay in the news no matter what. ... and he wants his $100 million as well.
