Newcastle United will be celebrating long into the night after bringing a 70-year wait for a trophy to an end in the Carabao Cup final.
Eddie Howe’s side defeated Liverpool 2-1 thanks to goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak, with Federico Chiesa scoring late on to make it a nervy final few minutes.
Yet, the relentless Magpies managed to see out the game and deservedly lifted the trophy in emotional scenes at Wembley.
Isaac Hayden sadly missed out on the celebrations as he’s out on loan at Portsmouth but he piled praise on Joelinton for his performance.

“Eddie Howe is one of the hardest working managers I have seen. It’s a credit to him and he fully deserves it.
“He is going to be talked about in the upper echelons of Newcastle managers.”
Incredible performance from Joelinton
There were 10/10 performances all over the field from Newcastle, including Burn, Sandro Tonali and Kieran Trippier.
But Hayden was right to pick out Joelinton for praise in particular after his sensational display.
The Brazilian covered every single blade of grass on the Wembley field and was still running hard even after the clock hit 100.
He celebrated every tackle as if it was a goal, battered Liverpool’s classy midfield into submission and made some crucial interceptions.
A game for the history books.
