Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has heaped praise on goalkeeper Robert Sanchez following the 1-0 Premier League loss to Arsenal on the road.
The Blues suffered their eighth defeat of the league campaign against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Merino bagged the winner in the opening half.
Sanchez had a nervy start in goal for the Blues, but his performance improved as the game went on. He made crucial interceptions and also denied Merino with a strong save.
Speaking after the loss, Maresca said that Sanchez made some good saves in the London derby. He added that it was a good showing from the former Brighton & Hove Albion man.
He said: "I think he did a good game. He did some good saves. With the feet, he was quite good in some moments and sometimes struggled a little bit but overall I think he was good."
Chelsea remain fourth in the league after the loss at the Emirates. The Blues have a London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge following the international break.
