Manchester United's Ayden Heaven down injured during the game against Leicester

Ayden Heaven was stretched off injured for Manchester United during their clash at Leicester City on Sunday.

The centre-back fell down and looked in some discomfort at the start of the second half. The 18-year-old tried to intercept the ball at the back post and went down just off the pitch.

Heaven was carried off the pitch on a stretcher and replaced by Toby Collyer. "It's the way that he went down, Ayden Heaven," Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe said during the broadcaster's coverage of the match. "It was awkward, a twisting motion."

"How unfortunate is this? He's just got his break, just got himself into the team.

"It doesn't look good. You can only wish him all the best."

Former Republic of Ireland international Clinton Morrison commented on BBC Radio 5 Live: "Heaven signalled to the bench straight away. Maybe he rolled something but you've got to hope the young man is alright."

At the time of writing United lead the clash 1-0 thanks to a goal by Rasmus Hojlund in the first half.

Alejandro Garnacho then went on to double the Reds lead moments after having a goal controversially ruled out for offside.

Confirming the reason for Garnacho's first effort being ruled out for offside, the Premier League's official match centre X account released a statement.

"The referee’s call of no goal was checked and confirmed by the VAR – with Garnacho in an offside position," they said.
