The Dallas Mavericks suffered their eighth loss in the past nine games on Sunday, as they came up short against the Philadelphia 76ers, with the final score settling in at 130-125. As complaints about the team's decision to trade Luka Doncic continue to come in, P.J. Washington made his thoughts on the situation extremely clear.
Washington made his return to action after missing the past seven games with an ankle injury, and he ended up leading all players in scoring (29 points) and rebounds (12 boards). While the team didn't win, Washington was happy to be back on the floor, especially with Dallas dealing with an absurd amount of injuries.
"I felt great, back to normal," Washington said after the game. "It felt great just to be back out there, I woke up early this morning, just excited to play. Definitely happy I'm back healthy."
It's been a tough stretch for the Mavericks, and it's resulted in their general manager Nico Harrison taking a beating for sending Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers back in February. Washington has heard the complaints about the deal, but he revealed he's sick of it and wants everyone to move on from the trade.
"At the end of the day the trades happened, we understand we have a new team now. All that ‘fire Nico' stuff, we're just sick and tired of hearing it. We just want to go out and play and the fans to support us," Washington said about the continued criticism for Harrison after this game.

With this loss, the Mavericks record fell to 33-36, although they are still currently holding onto the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference, which would earn them a spot in the play-in tournament if the season ended today.
Dallas will have a shot to get themselves back in the win column when they take on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
