Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is showing he is ready to give youth a chance.
One of the key part of being a Manchester United head coach is to back the club’s academy, with more than 250 graduates making the step from the training ground to the first team.
This has been particularly useful for Manchester United in recent years, with academy stars Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho going from winning the FA Youth Cup in 2022 to winning the FA Cup in 2024, both scoring in the final.
Former boss Erik ten Hag handed seven debuts to young players during his time as Manchester United manager.
Ruben Amorim is a coach who has a track record of developing talent. At former club Sporting he handed debuts to 27 young players.
He is giving opportunities to youngsters at United too. We will be tracking every single young player handed a debut for the club by the current boss.
