A decades-long, and often contentious, relationship between the Toronto Raptors and the New York Knicks almost had another chapter added to it more than 20 years ago.
According to New York Knicks owner James Dolan, his team came close to trading for Vince Carter just before the Raptors dealt him to the New Jersey Nets in December 2004.
