Barcelona took on Atletico Madrid at Civitas Metropolitano for the first time this season and the game saw the life sucked out of Hansi Flick’s side.
As has been the theme in Barcelona’s games against Diego Simeone’s side this season, the Catalans failed to take their big chances initially and Atletico Madrid took the lead with an efficiently executed attack late in the first half.
A controversial second was then awarded to the hosts despite a handball in the buildup before Robert Lewandowski pulled one back for Barcelona.
Ferran Torres’ late goal equalised the score for Barcelona and set up the game for a grandstand finish.
Needless to say, the promise was delivered when Yamal scored the winner in the 92nd minute and Torres put the cherry on the cake with a peach of a finish.
Barça Universal brings you the player ratings from Atletico Madrid 2-4 Barcelona.
Wojciech Szczesny: 6.5
The Polish goalkeeper enjoyed a rather quiet and uneventful first half as he was barely called into action. Conceded the opening goal in the dying minutes of the first half but cannot be faulted for it.
Alejandro Balde: 6.5

Balde did not enjoy his best night at the Metropolitano as he met his match in terms of pace and trickery in Giuliano Simeone.
Struggled to keep up at times defensively and it is not surprising that part of the buildup to Atleti’s goal came up on his side of the field.
Inigo Martinez: 7.5
Martinez had a rather strong first-half performance but played Atletico Madrid inside through their late transition that ended up in the opening goal of the night.
Was reliable with his distribution and defensive contributions largely and led from the front. Assisted Lewandowski’s opener.
Pau Cubarsi: 8
Playing his first game after the red card he saw in Lisbon, Cubarsi mostly stood out for Barcelona with perfect distribution and a strong defensive presence.
Did not err with his decision-making or look frightened after his mistake last week. Held his line on the offside trap, even on Atletico Madrid’s opening goal.
Jules Kounde: 8.5
A strong performance from Kounde whose biggest contribution may well have been the last man clearance that he provided. Did well to keep Los Rojiblancos in check on the right flank with a dominant defensive presence.
The Frenchman may not have been his flying self in the final third but did well to connect with Lamine Yamal more often than not.
Marc Casado: 7
Casado was given the start against Atletico Madrid ahead of Frenkie de Jong with the Dutchman not feeling 100% health-wise.
While he did well to ensure defensive stability, it was clear that the game needed more progressive passing and a player who could attack with vertical runs, something Casado struggled to provide.
Pedri: 8.5

Unsurprisingly, Pedri was one of the few Barcelona players who enjoyed a strong and solid opening 45 minutes despite the team being far from their best.
The Canary Islander controlled the middle of the park, dictated the tempo and transitions in possession and did not look troubled at any point by the altering dynamics of the game.
Dani Olmo: 7.5
With Atletico Madrid sitting in a low block to keep Barcelona from scoring, Olmo held the key to unlocking the defence with his runs in the pockets of space behind defenders and he did just that from the opening minute.
Olmo was one of Barcelona’s best players against Los Rojiblancos as he found the right runs, and movements and created chances with his vision that Barcelona unfortunately did not capitalise on in the opening period.
Raphinha: 7.5
The captain on the night did not get involved as much as he would have liked in the opening period as Barcelona struggled to create any breaks on the counterattack.
Improved after the break and racked up the assist for Barcelona’s equaliser on the night.
Lamine Yamal: 9

The teenage sensation missed one big chance at Civitas Metropolitano but once again had the team dancing to his creativity.
Dominated the right flank with his trickery, although it is safe to say that he was not in as imperious form as he was midweek against Benfica.
Took a strike from long distance which took a deflection and ended in the back of the net in added time.
Robert Lewandowski: 7
A frustrating night, albeit with a goal, for the Pichichi leader. (Photo by Juan Manuel Serrano Arce/Getty Images)
The Polish striker had the best chance of the first half in the dying minutes of the opening period but fell short with his conversion just moments before Atletico Madrid opened the scoring.
Overall had a dismal night in front of goal as he missed two big chances in the first half.
Scored a stunning goal after Atletico Madrid’s second goal to put Barcelona back in the game.
Ferran Torres: 9
Came on and had almost an instant impact as he scored a well-executed header past Jan Oblak off Raphinha’s assist. Completed his brace with the final kick of the game.
