Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic played his 14th game on Sunday since the blockbuster trade that ended his run with the Dallas Mavericks. With LeBron James sidelined due to a groin injury, Doncic led the Lakers to a win over the Phoenix Suns, snapping a four-game losing streak.
It was another strong showing for Doncic, who finished with 33 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Entering this contest, the Slovenian guard was averaging 26.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists since being traded.
Having fallen to the fifth seed with their recent skid, the Lakers currently remain in that spot, but have improved their overall record to 41-25 on the season.
In addition to his impressive line on Sunday, Doncic also made Lakers history with his first assist of the contest. Needing just 14 games to tally 100 assists in a Lakers uniform, Doncic tied LeBron James on a historic franchise list.

Doncic entered this contest with 339 points and 99 assists since the trade, adding to that total with his big performance in the win over Phoenix. In his seventh NBA campaign, Doncic is trying to make it back-to-back NBA Finals appearances after leading Dallas there last season. The Mavericks fell to the Boston Celtics in five games before undergoing major roster changes this season.
After Sunday's win, the Lakers now shift their focus to Monday when they will welcome the San Antonio Spurs to Crypto.com Arena.
