In his lone season with the Buffalo Bills, Mack Hollins certainly didn't produce like a top-flight wide receiver on the team. That doesn't mean his impact both on and off the field wasn't felt.
Hollins helped stabilize Buffalo's passing offense while building great relationships in Orchard Park throughout the 2024 season. Following his 31-catch, five-touchdown season, Hollins signed a free agent deal with the New England Patriots.
From fan favorite to playing for one of the organization's biggest rivals.
While the Bills continue to be appreciative of Hollins' run with the team, general manager Brandon Beane knows he did all he could to get a potential deal done.
It just didn't happen.
"We love Mack. Loved what he did," Beane said. "You'd have to ask Mack. We were definitely interested in bringing him back."
So why did Hollins leave Buffalo for a struggling organization like the Patriots?
For him, it had to do with the familiarity of the coaching staff.

"Obviously, the history of this team is great. It's been run really well for a long time," Hollins told reporters via 98.5 The Sports Hub's Alex Barth. "Me and coach (Josh) McDaniels were in Vegas together - I had my best statistical year...but also seeing coach (Mike) Vrabel and how he ran his teams in Tennessee."
In his lone season with McDaniels and the Raiders, Hollins enjoyed a career year with nearly 700 receiving yards tallied and 57 catches.
While the Bills may have the better quarterback, coaching matters in the NFL.
And that alone could be considered the reason Holliuns isn't in Buffalo anymore.
