The Minnesota Vikings immediately made their presence felt during free agency. Thanks to a significant amount of cap space they went on a spending spree. After a 14-win season Kevin O’Connell’s team needed to reload this offseason.

To date ESPN has already dubbed the Minnesota Vikings as the winners of free agency. They still have some moves to make, and they have a couple of draft picks to work with. The team had a boatload of talent leave after their deals expired and one of them is the top option remaining.

MN Vikings tackle Cam Robinson remains

Last season the Minnesota Vikings were forced to trade for Cam Robinson after Christian Darrisaw suffered a season-ending injury against the Detroit Lions. He was never going to be a priority for Kwesi Adofo-Mensah unless there was a desire to make less money and slide to a guard spot. Now he’s ESPN writer Matt Bowen’s top remaining free agents.

“At 6-foot-6 and 335 pounds, Robinson has the ideal size, length and traits for the tackle position. Technical lapses have prevented him from playing at a consistent level, and his 88.2% pass block win rate last season was below average. But with the ability to engulf rushers at the point of attack and the foot speed to redirect, Robinson has the desired tools.”

All but two of Cam Robinson’s 999 snaps last season came at left tackle. The pair that didn’t had him lined up at tight end. He has the size and ability to be a bookend for a team but will now be on his third franchise.

There are plenty of positions that lack enough talent to support the need across the entirety of the league. Tackle is among those, and Robinson would represent an upgrade for someone. The 29-year-old will eventually land and should provide a capable level of starting ability for his new employer.

More free agents with Minnesota Vikings ties remain

There are still plenty of free agents with ties to the MN Vikings that remain. Not only did Kevin O’Connell’s team have 29 players leave this offseason, but there are those with prominent names that have previously donned the purple. Here is where Bowen those names sitting.

Of course there are more pending free agents with Vikings ties than just these three. However, they are the most prominent names still available. Despite Minnesota being in the market for a third wideout, it doesn’t seem like Diggs should or could factor into the discussion.

He tore his ACL last season and played in just eight games for Houston. He probably has plenty left in the tank, but that’s not a personality that will accept a third fiddle role. He had just 496 yards and three touchdowns during his lone season with the Texans.

Smith moved on to the Browns after a successful resurgence in Minnesota during the 2022 season. He then was dealt to Detroit and played in 17 games while making 16 starts. He had 5.5 and 9 sacks respectively over the past two seasons after recording 10 for Minnesota.

This offseason Minnesota has revamped their offensive line. That meant bringing in both Ryan Kelly at center and Will Fries at guard. It left Bradbury out in the cold and he will now be seeking future employment.
