Vikings Predicted To Replace Sam Darnold With Super Bowl-Winning QB

The Minnesota Vikings were one of the biggest surprises of the season, riding the success of quarterback Sam Darnold.

Last season, Darnold played his first year with the Vikings, bursting onto the scene and establishing himself as a clear starter in the NFL.

After bouncing around the league, spending time with the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers, Darnold thrived under head coach Kevin O'Connell.

He finished the season with 35 touchdowns and 4,319 yards, completing 66.2% of his pass attempts.

While he was a quality starter for the Vikings, Darnold eventually packed his bags from Minnesota in the offseason, joining the Seattle Seahawks.

As the Vikings search to find a new quarterback, a recent free-agency article by Cory Woodroof at USA Today predicts Minnesota will sign one-time Super Bowl winner and 10-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson before the 2025 NFL season.

Last season, Wilson played for the Pittsburgh Steelers after a short stint with the Denver Broncos and a long tenure with the Seattle Seahawks.

While he started the season on the sideline due to a calf injury, Wilson became the starter after a few weeks and wound up posting 16 touchdowns and 2,482 yards with a 63.7 completion percentage.

He led the Steelers to a 10-8 record, including a playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Vikings finished the season with a 14-4 record, losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs.
