Newcastle United’s co-owners from past and new reflected on the Carabao Cup win over Liverpool.
Jamie Reuben has broken his silence after Newcastle United beat Liverpool to lift the Carabao Cup.
Dan Burn headed the Magpies in front on the brink of half-time before Alexander Isak doubled the lead. Federico Chiesa pulled one back for the Reds in stoppage but United held out for the victory.
Not only did the win end United’s 70-year wait for a domestic trophy, it also marked the first cup under the ownership of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and RB Sports & Media.

PIF governor and club chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan jetted in from Saudi Arabia to be present at Wembley and sat alongside co-owner Reuben in the royal box.
Following celebrations inside Wembley, Newcastle’s staff and players continued into the night at Box Park, which is located on Wembley Way.
It was from there that Reuben uploaded a photo him next Al Rumayyan with the caption: “What can I say except thank you @NUFC To the start of many.”
Amanda Staveley supports Newcastle United at Wembley
Amanda Staveley and husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi attended their first Newcastle match since their stake in the football club was acquired by PIF and RB Sports & Media at an 85%/15% split.

The pair attended Newcastle’s last cup final, which ended in a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United, but got their wish after watching the win over Liverpool.
Ghodoussi posted on X: “Amanda and I had a dream when we first came to Newcastle, that dream came true tonight #HWTL#NUFC”
What Eddie Howe said on Carabao Cup final win
Speaking about the Carabao Cup final, Howe told reporters at his pre-match press conference: I think you're pleased for other people, really. I'm so pleased for the players. They've all had different journeys to get to this point, but we've come together as a squad. I love working with them every day. Honoured to be their leader.
