David Moyes faces two biggest Everton selection dilemmas yet for crucial game

Everton's next game is not until April. When it arrives Moyes may actually have a selection dilemma

David Moyes could have a genuine selection dilemma when Everton return to Premier League action at Liverpool next month. The Blues boss handed senior minutes to Youssef Chermiti and Armando Broja for the first time since his return when they were introduced for the final stages against West Ham United.

The pair have spent months out injured but both provided useful cameos as part of substitutions that helped Everton find the energy to grab a stoppage time equaliser.

With Beto having gone goalless in three matches, and having missed good chances against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford, a good international break for either Broja or Chermiti could help them mount a challenge for a starting place. That being said, Beto scored against Liverpool last month and caused them problems from the bench at Anfield last season.

Moyes is hopeful that he will be able to see more from the players who are returning from injury over the coming weeks, including Seamus Coleman - one of several players he is considering organising a behind-closed-doors friendly for.

Other battles that have emerged in recent weeks are between Abdoulaye Doucoure and Carlos Alcaraz in the middle, and Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison out wide. Moyes is using his stronger squad to experiment more, and has toyed with Alcaraz on the left and in central midfield.

Another challenger for a starting role could be Tim Iroegbunam, who has now made several important appearances from the bench, including on Saturday and when he claimed the assist for James Tarkowski’s stunning stoppage time equaliser in the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
