"IF Carlsberg did careers...!"
That was what Callum Wilson said to Dan Burn in the [Newcastle United](http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle) dressing room after Sunday's Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool.
It was Burn, on the back of his England call-up just 48 hours earlier, who headed the opening goal in Newcastle's 2-1 win over Liverpool at Wembley.
And [Newcastle](https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastleunited/) joint assistant managerĀ Graeme Jones, who was influential in the signing of Burn three years ago, was absolutely thrilled for the Geordie defender.

Jones, himself a Geordie, said winning the Carabao Cup was "the greatest day of his life".
"I was lucky enough at Wigan to create some history when I won the FA Cup (as coach), but when you're having to rewrite history, it's been the biggest challenge of our life - the group of players and staff," he said.
"I can't begin to tell you how it makes us feel. It's the greatest day of my life. My wife is going to kill me for saying that! But if you're a black and white and a Newcastle fan, I can't put it into words.
"I can't begin to tell you how much our people deserve that. The staff and players of this football club are so together and we've ended the wait.
"We saw those three minutes out (after the Liverpool goal) incredibly. All the work we've done about game management, we've performed. I can't tell you how happy I am."
