The Newcastle United player who has taken Dan Burn's limelight as behind-scenes footage emerges

Newcastle United partied long into Sunday night after winning the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The long, heartbreaking 70-year wait for a trophy came to a triumphant end at Wembley when Newcastle United defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final.

Eddie Howe’s side were sensational as they pressed the imperious Premier League leaders to within an inch of their lives, with Tino Livramento not even allowing Mohamed Salah a shot on goal.

Strikes either side of the break from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak secured the cup for Newcastle, though Federico Cheisa’s late strikes ensured it was a nail-biting finish.

Yet, it was Newcastle’s day at Wembley and the emotional celebrations on the pitch – with Bruno Guimaraes in floods of tears – soon turned to a party once things moved to the changing rooms.

Sean Longstaff drinks from the Carabao Cup

Local lad Sean Longstaff would have had a small reason to feel a bit gutted, given he was stripped to come on off the bench late on but Howe changed his mind and sent on Emil Krafth instead.

However, there was not even a hint of the midfielder being upset as he celebrated the victory like any childhood fan would.

Sky’s cameras showed what was going on in the changing room and Longstaff downed beer straight from the trophy!

However, that didn’t stop him from whipping out his signature dance moves to the delight of his colleagues.

Eddie Howe gets drenched by Joelinton

Howe arrived for his press conference duties some time after the final whistle and soaked to the bone.

The manager apologied for the smell as he revealed he had been drenched by Joelinton – another senational performer – who had thrown a bucket full of beer and champagne all over him.

He said upon sitting down: “That strange smell in the room is me. Joelinton drenched me in alcohol!”
