Jamaal Lascelles lifts the Carabao Cup trophy alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier
Bruno Guimaraes captained the Magpies to glory, and he was joined by Kieran Trippier to lift the trophy.

Lascelles has not played all season due to injury, but is the club captain. He has led Newcastle United during some incredibly difficult times, and he absolutely deserved that moment at Wembley.
Bruno and Trippier deserve a lot of respect for what they did.
Jamaal Lascelles expected to return for Newcastle ‘soon’
The 31-year-old probably never expected he would be lifting a trophy with Newcastle United when he first called out his teammates for a lack of character back in 2016.
Fast forward to 2025 and this Newcastle United team is full of character.
Lascelles is part of that team, despite not playing all season. The centre-back is approaching a full year out of action, with his last game coming on March 30th 2024.
Eddie Howe recently said Lascelles will return soon, as he enters the final stage of his recovery from an ACL injury.
It would be great to see him back on the pitch this season, with his Newcastle United contract due to expire in the summer.
