Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has said there has been some ‘huge interest’ in Everton-linked Harrison Duncan.
Rotherham United could face a battle to keep hold of the youngster this summer amid attention from elsewhere. RUFC are currently sat in 14th place in the League One table with 10 fixtures left to play this season.
Duncan, 16, is being tipped for a bright future in the game. According to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page, Everton are keen on luring him to Merseyside.
In this latest update regarding his situation, Evans has said, as per a report by the Rotherham Advertiser: “I had a good chat with the head of our youth system (Richard Hairyes) who said there’s been huge interest in him.”
He added: “I would recommend that we keep him. I think he’s going to be a really good player. I know that the club had two offers for him a number of months ago.
“The chairman said: ‘No. If we want to keep our young talent, we’ll try our best to do that.’ It never got to a level where it was more sensible to take those funds and help the academy. Our academy chief endorsed that.”
