Premier League club make West Brom scouting trip with star man eyed

West Brom winger Tom Fellows remains of interest to Everton ahead of the summer window, reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon.

West Brom have seen Tom Fellows become one of their most influential players over the past year-and-a-half. The WBA academy graduate is among the Championship’s most exciting wingers.

With two goals and 11 assists to his name in 37 Championship games this season, Fellows has been one of their main creative sources and that, unsurprisingly, has not gone unnoticed.

Everton have been long-term admirers but were rebuffed in a late move for the Baggies star in the winter transfer window.

Now though, writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon has detailed the lingering interest in the West Brom star.

Nixon states the Toffees remain on the trail of Fellows and headed to see him in action against Burnley last week, only for the 21-year-old to sit out due to a family bereavement. The WBA winger was back in the fray on Saturday, coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Hull City.

A real prospect

There’s no hiding West Brom have got a real gem on their hands in Fellows. His patented step-over and shift to the right foot before crossing has made him a handful for plenty of defenders in his short career to date.

His Crawley Town loan might not have been anything out of the ordinary but since breaking into the WBA side, he’s registered seven goals and 15 assists in 84 games.

Fellows is certainly one of the club’s biggest assets for the future. He will likely land the club a fairly sizeable fee if he is to move this summer, be it to Everton or somewhere else.

The current focus

West Brom and Fellows have a couple weeks to rest after a hectic period. The youngster has not been called up to the England U21s so will have two weeks to recharge for the remainder of the campaign.

Tony Mowbray’s side are unbeaten in six as they look to earn a place in the Championship play-offs but will be somewhat frustrated having drawn four of those 1-1.

After the break, the Baggies face Norwich City away from home. The Canaries are still in with a shot of the top six but poor form now has them eight points off WBA, sitting 13th.
