Chelsea will likely be looking to forget about everything that happened on the pitch in their last Premier League outing.
The Blues were beaten by Arsenal 1-0 in a game where Enzo Maresca’s lack of substitutions before the game was over were criticised.
The Italian was down a number of options, including not having Cole Palmer available for selection for the first time this season.
In truth, it was a better week off the pitch than it was off it for Chelsea. Despite the transfer window not currently being open, that hasn’t stopped them from pushing to complete new signings.
This has occured as they agreed a fee to sign Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo, with the latter set to be part of the first team squad as soon as next season.

Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos scores stunning goal for Strasbourg
Given the fact that Essugo is a central midfielder, there have been doubts raised over what that will mean for Andrey Santos, whose season at Strasbourg continues to go from strength to strength.
Santos is expected to be a first teamer next season too, however this would leave Chelsea bloated in that position with Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia all there too.
If the Blues needed a reminder of Santos’ quality, they were given one in the Ligue 1 side’s last game against Toulouse.

Strasbourg came back to win 2-1 after going a goal behind, with the Brazilian’s outrageous strike proving to be the winner.
Santos picked the ball up on the edge of the box before unleashing a venemous effort in off the woodwork, as shown on Ligue 1’s official YouTube channel.

Chelsea’s Andrey Santos concerns
Given how impressive the Brazil international has been this season, it is perhaps not surprising that he is looking to take the next step in his career.
It has been reported that Santos wants to play regularly next season, something that looks difficult for Chelsea to be able to give him based on the available options.
The youngster was one of the first signings made in this youth-led project, and Chelsea would do well to not get carried away with new players and remember the quality they already have available to them.
