Rasmus Hojlund names Man Utd teammate he used to watch‘as a fan’, he has‘incredible quality’

The “vibes” at Manchester United seem immaculate again after Ruben Amorim’s men followed up their Europa League win with another victory by three goals.

Leicester City were on the receiving end of another convincing performance where Man Utd rarely looked like losing.

There were plenty of positives to take from this game, with Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho breaking their scoring droughts, and Bruno Fernandes doing Bruno Fernandes things.

Outside of Ayden Heaven’s injury, everything looks up for Ruben Amorim, with his striker, Hojlund, also naming his teammate he used to watch “as a fan”. Now he’s playing alongside him.

Man Utd fan Rasmus Hojlund living the dream

Hojlund has received a lot of stick for his undercooked game and inconsistency but one thing he can never be doubted for is his effort and commitment.

Unlike many who do lip service, the Danish striker is genuinely a boyhood United fan who is living the dream playing every week at Old Trafford.

After the 3-0 win vs Leicester and a goal to boot, he breathed a sigh of relief and really put it into perspective what a surreal feeling this is.

He namechecked Bruno Fernandes as someone he used to watch as a fan from afar, and now that he’s playing alongside him and feeding off his assists, he has become an even bigger admirer of the Portuguese.

He said: “I have watched him for a long time as a teammate and a fan. He is [a Manchester United great] for me. His quality is incredible, the level he shows on and off the pitch. He gets stick sometimes, but in a good way, everything he does is to make the team better.”

Hojlund-Bruno Fernandes duo can get Man Utd firing

A switch seems to have flipped within Rasmus Hojlund where he’s gained the awareness that only he can get himself out of the situation he’s in.

The last three games have seen Hojlund try and dominate physically and stylistically, even if the goals weren’t going in or the chances weren’t being taken.

Fernandes has really helped him a lot by trying to find him every time he’s on the ball, be it through lay-offs or by balls over the defensive line, as he did against Leicester.

Hojlund had struggled, but it was a combination of the player not doing much and the teammates weren’t helping him either.

The captain took it upon himself to involve the Dane more and the player repaid his confidence by breaking his scoring drought with a confident finish.

If this duo develops an understanding and starts firing, United will be in a much better place.
