Premier League Awards–Electric Elanga, Haaland’s century

Our Premier League Awards honour the best – and worst – of the weekend action, featuring Anthony Elanga and yet another Erling Haaland record.

Player of the Week

Nottingham Forest took another huge step towards Champions League qualification with a comfortable win at Ipswich. Anthony Elanga was outstanding in the 4-2 success at Portman Road, scoring twice in clinical fashion.

Elanga has come on leaps and bounds since arriving at the City Ground. His brace made it 10 goals and 17 assists since joining from Manchester United at the start of last season. Given the struggles of those in wide areas at Old Trafford, it begs the question as to whether the Red Devils should have had more patience with the 22-year-old.

Allowed the freedom to rove from the right, his first saw Elanga back up Jacob Greaves before curling an unstoppable finish into the far corner. A second arrived four minutes later. Nikola Milenkovic’s long pass was not dealt with and Elanga sped in behind to finish calmly. One of the quickest players in the league and improving with his end product, he’s been a key part of a Forest side edging closer to Europe.

Manager of the Week

Vitor Pereira has insisted Wolves can not ease up but his side are nearly there.

Wolves won a crucial clash on the south coast this weekend with a 2-1 win at Southampton. In the absence of the talismanic Matheus Cunha, Jorgen Strand Larsen stepped up. The Norwegian scored both goals to earn a precious three points and lift Wolves nine points clear of the drop zone.

How are you feeling after that win, @Wolves fans? 🟠

Wolves are ninth in the form table over the last six games. Pereira has got results at a vital time of the campaign.

Goal of the Week

There’s plenty to like about Omar Marmoush and the Egyptian has wasted no time in making his mark at Manchester City.

Marmoush’s fourth league goal since his January arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt was a thing of beauty. Bart Verbruggen did not even bother to dive.

Stat of the Week

Another week, another record for Erling Haaland.

100 Premier League goals and assists in just 94 appearances for Manchester City.

A machine.

100 – With 84 goals and 16 assists in 94 games, Erling Haaland has reached 100 goal involvements in fewer appearances than any player in Premier League history. Machine. pic.twitter.com/FrEmM67wbg

Tweet of the Week

Manchester United unveiled their grand design for a new super stadium this week – and it’s certainly a sight.

Fans, however, were not buying the presumptuousness of this image. Not one bit.

The most audacious thing from this new stadium project is the fact they’re assuming we’ll be 3-0 up at home. pic.twitter.com/gNQLdzBdVz
