Joshua Zirkzee has sent a clear message to Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes which speaks volumes following another player-of-the-match display by the Portuguese.

Fernandes followed-up his hat-trick heroics in the Europa League on Thursday night against Real Sociedad with three goal contributions against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

The United captain played a brilliant ball over Leicester's defence for Rasmus Hojlund's opener before poking the ball through to Alejandro Garnacho to make it 2-0. Fernandes, 30, then made it five goals in three games when he rounded-off a great team move with the third.

Fernandes' purple patch comes following criticism from Roy Keane for his perceived lack of leadership at United. After the win, Ruben Amorim piled praise on his captain - and that feeling is replicated from inside dressing room.

On Instagram, Zirkzee posted a selfie of him - and Fernandes - almost immediately after returning to the dressing room at the King Power Stadium. Posing with the official Premier League player-of-the-match trophy, the forward tagged Fernandes and included three love hearts.

The pair then posted together for another picture with the trophy, alongside Manuel Ugarte and Garnacho. After receiving criticism for his leadership capabilities, the United players are making their feelings clear on the Portugal international.

Fernandes' form recently has helped make Amorim's life easier in recent weeks. Despite still lurking in the bottom half of the Premier League table, United remain in the Europa League - as one of the favourites - and are showing signs of finishing off the domestic campaign well.
