SINGAPORE - Is success all about getting good grades in school and landing a high-paying job? Or are there other meaningful ways to measure accomplishment in life?
A discussion on the diversity of pathways to achieving - and defining - success in today’s Singapore will take place during the second ST Podcasts Live event on the evening of April 15 at independent cinema The Projector at Golden Mile Tower.
The dialogue, titled Game of life: Must success always be about good grades and jobs?, is a part of The Straits Times’ In Your Opinion podcast. It will be hosted by ST assistant podcast editor Lynda Hong, who will be speaking with young entrepreneurs Adella Yeo Rae-Nyse and Nabill Shukry Johari.
With an interest in entrepreneurship, Ms Yeo co-founded MatcHub, a platform that matches students to suitable job roles based on their personality. She later discovered a passion in tech and is now working remotely as an account manager at a software company.
Mr Nabill, meanwhile, worked with his father to start his home-based meal-prep delivery service Cheekies in 2021, helping to fill a gap in the market by providing healthier food options for Muslim customers.
The In Your Opinion podcast live recording is organised in partnership with the National Youth Council, in support of the SG Youth Plan. The SG Youth Plan is an action blueprint for how society can listen, support and partner youths to empower them to be the best versions of themselves, and to contribute to build the future Singapore they want to see.

Following that dialogue, a second podcast recording will take place.
For the Health Check podcast, ST senior health correspondent Joyce Teo will chat with two guests about how young adults can better care for their mental health while juggling work and relationships.
After each podcast discussion, there will be a 15-minute Q&A session for the audience to pose questions to the panellists.

The first ST Podcasts Live event took place on Feb 12 at social impact hub The Foundry – formerly the Elections Department building – and kicked off ST’s 180th-year celebrations, as well as a series of live ST podcast events in 2025.
