Dan Burn and Newcastle United players celebrate at NUFC's Boxpark
With Newcastle United's non-international stars jetting off to Dubai, there is only a very small window to ensure the Magpies' Carabao Cup win gets the party treatment it truly deserves. Eddie Howe, usually so laser-focused and rigid, admitted as much as he ordered his players to saviour every moment in the immediate aftermath of the Wembley showpiece.
"There has to be a big celebration," he said. "I certainly will be encouraging it, which is very rare for me, usually I'm the other way. We have to celebrate, hopefully with our supporters, with everyone that's waited so long.
"It is difficult as it's international duty. Players will be going off here, there and everywhere. There won't be long to spend together but hopefully it will be really enjoyable."
Soon after United left Wembley, after players and staff had conducted their media duties and Howe, too, had apologised for entering the stadium's media auditorium smelling of beer, that party could finally begin. As fans made their way back down Wembley Way and towards their tubes and taxis, Anthony Gordon was spotted sprinting down the road to the meeting point, clearly in a hurry.
The location in question was the Boxpark situated just a few hundred metres from the iconic stadium. It had played host to thousands of fans before, during and after the game - and was the home for each of United's players, staff and owners in the hours after history was made.
PIF chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan and co-owner Jamie Reuben stood side by side, black and white shirts over their clothes, beaming for a photograph. "To the start of many," said Reuben.
A few yards away, Dan Burn stood on the balcony, hearing his name being chanted from the supporters situated on the balcony below. "He's from Blyth," was the chant as Ultrabeat's iconic 'Pretty Green Eyes' played over the venue's speakers.

The proceedings had been kicked off by Sandro Tonali moments earlier. Standing on the same raised platform, the Italian opened and sprayed a bottle of champagne into the crowd to kick things off. Tonali was joined by his fiancee and some of his family from back home.
There was also space for former players and loved ones. Alan Shearer and his family were there to enjoy the celebrations, while Elliot Anderson and Paul Dummett, who watched the match in the Newcastle end with fellow fans, joined in the celebrations.
Jacob Murphy was joined by his twin brother Josh, who plays for Portsmouth, while Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton partied into the night with their partners.
Speaking after the clash, a teary Bruno said: "It is one of the best days of my life. I don't have any words. They [the fans] deserve it.
"People have grown up and not seen Newcastle as champions, I am so happy. This is one of the best days. We deserve this; it is unbelievable. This is my second home. Relegation, Champions League and now champions. I am so emotional today."
