Barcelona stars Inigo Martinez and Marc Casado have both pulled out of the Spain squad for Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands.
The duo had been part of Luis de la Fuente’s call-up but will now miss out after picking up issues in Sunday’s win over Atletico Madrid.
Martinez has a knee injury which is expected to keep him sidelined for a week or two, meaning he may be fit once the international break is over.
Yet it will be a blow for the center-back who had been handed a recall after a couple of years out of the squad. He’s been replaced in the Spain roster by Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.
Casado is also out with knee trouble and has been replaced by Aleix Garcia. There’s no word yet on Casado’s injury but there are a few whispers already that it’s more serious and he could be out for longer than Martinez.
