Former player Jamie Redknapp took to social media to congratulate a young boy named Rafi who appeared on the show.
The Amer family, including Rafi who has severe disabilities following a sudden illness in September 2023, were selected by the BBC series, DIY SOS.
The sports star commended the young boy for his resilience and referred to Liverpool's slogan, 'You'll never walk alone.'
The transformation was initiated when Rafi's aunt, Louise, contacted the show as the family faced difficulties in providing suitable space and facilities for Rafi at home.
The DIY SOS team, alongside the local community, aimed to create a functional and comfortable home, allowing the family to live together while giving Rafi the space to develop alongside his family.
On Thursday, March 13, more than 500 people gathered outside the family’s Bracknell home to witness the big reveal.
DIY SOS presenter, Nick Knowles, described the experience as "joyous".
Mr Knowles said: "It’s been epic. It’s been eight days of the most extraordinary build with 450 people turning up today, and that’s not everyone who took part either in a three-bedroom terrace house.
"It’s been busy, it’s been hard work and it’s been clear from the beginning that this family needed this to happen otherwise this little boy would have to go back to hospital to get the medical care that he needed."
