Victor Gyokeres continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old striker is under contract at Sporting CP until 2028.

However reports suggest he has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that could see him leave for less than his €100m (£84m) release clause.

Interest in Gyokeres is high, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal all monitoring his situation.

European giants Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich have also been credited with interest.

Although his preference is said to be a move to the Premier League.

The Sweden international was on the scoresheet once again at the weekend, netting in Sporting’s 3-1 victory over Famalicao.

Viktor Gyokeres addresses transfer speculation

After the game, Gyokeres addressed speculation over his future, providing an update on his mindset heading into the final stretch of the season.

The striker said: “No, nobody has spoken to me. It’s not something I think about or that is in my mind. Rumours, once more.

“My focus is on being here.”

Journalist Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Sporting could be willing to accept offers between €65m and €75m (£54m-£63m) for the forward.

“That’s a very good price for one of the best strikers in Europe in terms of numbers,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“All the top clubs in Europe are going very strong for Gyokeres in the summer. I’ve been informed this price could be enough to land him.

Many clubs are exploring the situation and are ready to present their project to Viktor Gyokeres.”

However, Gyokeres remains focused on surpassing last season’s goal tally as Sporting push for the league title.

The Swedish star scored 43 goals in 50 appearances last season and is already on 40 goals in 41 games this term.

“There are eight games left in the league, so of course I’ll try to beat last season’s record,” he added.
