Packers Mock Draft 1.0 Voting: First Round

Starting this week, we’re going to do something a little different here at Acme Packing Company. Every Monday, we’re going to release a potential draft scenario for the Green Bay Packers and you’ll decide who the Packers should take in the first round. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we’ll open up the voting for Day 2 selections.

So we simmed the first 22 picks of next month's draft using Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator, now it’s time for the comment section to decide how the Packers are going to use their top pick of the draft. For the purposes of this exercise, we’re going to focus on Green Bay’s primary positions of need: receiver, defensive end, defensive tackle and cornerback.

Picks number 11 through 18 were a complete bloodbath for the Packers’ needs. For eight straight picks, defensive ends, receivers and cornerbacks came off of the board. On top of that, two of the three picks before Green Bay was on the clock were also defensive linemen. It’s safe to say this is about a worst-case scenario for how the board could shake out in April.
